NB4116: Quality Advancement Engineer

The Quality Advancement Engineer will conduct a thorough and well planned auditing programme at the shop floor operations level.  The Quality Engineer will focus on ensuring we have documented standard work, that we are operating to the standards and any identified non conformities have corrected actions which have follow up to closure. The Quality Engineer’s co-ordination of third party audits will be part of this role.  This will require close co-operation with Quality team, the Process Engineer and Facilities team. The Quality Engineer must have an HNC/HND in Engineering (Mechanical or Production) or an Engineering degree. The Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills building good working relationships.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough and well planned auditing programme at the shop floor operations level.  This will focus on ensuring we have documented standard work, that we are operating to the standards and any identified non conformities have corrected actions which have follow up to closure.  Co-ordination of third party audits will be part of this role.  This will require close co-operation with quality team, the process engineer and facilities team.
  • Support the quality team in analysing and closing gaps in the current process quality level as determined through reduced repeatability and reproducibility results, layered process audit non conformities and quality complaints/concerns as registered in Global Quality Tracking System events.
  • Implementation of quality improvement tactics as established through the PEMEA process, being both captured in standard work documentation and practice and the PCP’s.  This will be driven by the quality team.
  • Introduction or updating of quality control plans to cover the introduction of new products or new/modified processes.  This in line with TQMS safe launch process and in liaison with the Product Deployment Engineer who has tool engineering responsibility, the Process Engineer and the Equipment Engineer.
  • Implement visual quality tools and define the responsibilities with the lead associates to drive the quality culture through the shop floor operations

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have an HNC/HND in Engineering (Mechanical or Production) or an Engineering degree
  • Must have good practical engineering skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills building good working relationships.
  • Be able to negotiate solutions/actions.
  • Must pay attention to detail and procedure.

Salary: £27K
